According to Football website Squawka, Arsenal have submitted a bid for £20million-rated Bundesliga ace Mkhitaryan as the London club try to capitalize on of the player’s contract stalemate. Dortmund are reportedly ready to accept the bid as Arsenal are said to be ready to pay the bulk of the money upfront unlike United that bid £19 million and want to spread the payment out for three years
Armenia international Mkhitaryan has many suitors after a sensational season with Dortmund that earned him being voted the German Bundesliga player of the year by German publication Kicker.
The Armenia international had a brilliant season for Bundesliga giant Dortmund, scoring 23 goals with 32 assist in 52 matches in all competitions.
He scored 11 goals and provided 20 assists from 31 games in the German Bundesliga alone last season.
Mkhitaryan’s has just one year left in his contract, which has triggered interest from top European clubs including London giants Arsenal, Tottenham and Italy champions Juventus.
Report says Arsenal has made the biggest push for Mkhitaryan and the Gunners are the only side to have submitted a formal offer for the Armenia international.
As the Gunners await Jamie Vardy to decide on a transfer to Arsenal, after the Gunners triggered the striker’s £22million release clause last weekend.
Report claim Dortmund have tabled an offer for Mkhitaryan in a deal worth £100,000 a week but the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, has declared the players intention to move to Manchester United and work under new boss Jose Mourinho.
It’s believed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to sign Mkhitaryan early enough after already captured Swiss international Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.
