Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has been on the radar of several top European clubs, including Arsenal, after a scintillating performance for the Italian side last term.
According to Gazzetta, the striker, could simply be sold back to Real Madrid, should the Spanish giant decide to activate the buy-back clause in the deal that took him to Italy, of under £25m, is reportedly asking for £6m a season in wages.
Here is the break down of the £6 million pounds he is believed to be asking for, £500,000 a month or around £125,000 a week – give or take. He’s asking wages is nowhere close to the wages Arsenal pay Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez but these are proven players.
Morata,is a talented player, but still inconsistent and jumping straight in at such a high wage bracket might not be something Arsenal are willing to let him do.
His other Premier league suitors, Chelsea and Manchester United, would gladly pay this. Morata’s Spain team-mate, Lucas Vasquez, doesn’t seem to understand the situation and thinks he should return to Real Madrid.
“Hopefully Madrid re-sign Morata,” he said.
“He’s had two exceedingly good years and if that’s what the club decides it’ll be good for everyone.”
Morata himself, who has suggested that although he would like to return to Madrid, he understands the situations and knows he probably would not make the first team.
