Celta Vigo president has confirmed that Arsenal can sign Spanish attacker Nolito for as low as £13.8m this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been busy in the transfer market with the signing of Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka while efforts are being made to land Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
The Gunners await Jamie Vardy to decide on a transfer to Arsenal, after the Gunners triggered the striker’s £22million release clause last weekend.
Vardy did not announce his transfer before the European championship because was yet to decide whether to accept or not. Ranieri told Sky Italia ‘We want to keep him, Arsenal have said they will pay the full release clause, but he hasn’t accepted yet.’
It’s obvious the man in the middle of the storm, Vardy knows what his final decision will be. He now has enough time to consider both Arsenal and Leicester’s offer, and he could be considering other offers from other suitors.
Several players have been strongly linked with a move to the club in recent weeks but another name who keeps cropping up is Spanish attacker Nolito.
Nolito, 29, has just come off the back of an impressive campaign with Celta Vigo, netting 12 goals and assisting 7 in his 29 appearances and he has taken that form in to the European championship having scored during Spain’s 3-0 win over Turkey.
Arsenal are showing interest in signing Nolito this summer and have now been told by the Celta Vigo president, Carlos Mourino, that the player has a release clause in his contract worth just £13.8m, claim The Mirror.
Carlos Mourino was quoted by the Mirror saying that he thinks the attacker will leave the club this summer.
“I think that Nolito will leave Celta this year. There are no numbers, no negotiations. He has a buy-out clause of €18m (£13.8m). Who pays it can sign him.”
Looks like a good deal for Wenger, but he could face competition from Chelsea and Manchester City.
