DONE DEAL – £30m Bid To Be ACCEPTED, Arsenal Set For Striker Signing

Despite Leicester City announcing they have agreed a deal with the representatives of Vardy for a new contract, until Vardy signs the deal, anything can still happen.

And it appears Leicester also know this and have been in trying to sign a replacement striker. According to reports, Watford captain Troy Deeney wants talks with Watford hierarchy after the club turned down Champions Leicester’s staggering latest bid of £25million.

The Watford captain Troy Deeney wants to play in the Uefa Champions League, just like any other player, with Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City but Watford insist their captain is not for sale at any price.

The Watford marksman, who is set to clock 28 later this month, fears he will be priced out of his dream of playing in the Uefa Champions League with Watford maintaining he is not for sale.

It was reported that the club rejected a 20 million pounds offer from the Premier League champions two weeks ago, with League One side Walsall to be paid 25 percent of any fee over £500,000 for Deeney’s transfer.

But it’s believed Watford are interest in 22 year old West Brom striker Saido Berahino, who has a year left on his contract.

This latest Leicester development has triggered lot of questions like, why are the foxes so keen on signing Deeney if they are sure they will not lose Vardy? If they are sure Verdy is staying put at the King Power stadium, why have they not announced it? An official announcement would have ended the speculation.

I am of the opinion that Arsenal, Vardy and Leicester are merely playing with the feelings of Leicester fans as a deal is agreed in principle and Leicester are merely buying time to get in a replacement.
