According to German newspaper Bild, one of the most sort after striker in Europe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who Arsenal fans desperately want to see their club sign this summer, is set to snub interest from the English Premier League and remain at German side Borussia Dortmund.
The Gabon international has been heavily linked with a move out of the German side this summer, and speculation reached fever pitch when Manchester City were reported to have agreed bumper deal for the attacker.
English premier League side Arsenal has also been linked with the 27-year-old, who scored 25 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund last season.
Arsenal is in need of a striker, with Vardy’s transfer stalling, the North London side will have to cough out around £65 million for his signature.
Latest report says Aubameyang has had a change of heart and notwithstanding several bids from across Europe, will choose to stay at Signal Iduna Park for the 2016/17 season.
It appears that Borussia Dortmund is not hugely confident of keeping Aubameyang for very long and is still anticipating a bid that matches their asking price before the transfer window closes.
Bild reports that Dortmund are actively looking for replacements for the reigning African Footballer of the year, should a suitable bid emerge and the club in question manage to persuade Aubameyang to perform yet another U-turn.
It remains unknown if Arsenal can pay such a huge fee for Aubameyang. But Arsenal fans will certainly fancy the arrival of such a decent striker.
