Medical Scheduled – 31-Goals Striker To Join Arsenal, Will Earn £85,000-A-Week

After losing out on Jamie Vardy, Arsenal are reportedly to restart their search for a striker that will deliver the goals for us next season. According to highly rated Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, Arsenal have identified Sporting Lisbon and Tottenham target Islam Slimani as a potential signing.

The highly rated African had a good season in Sporting Lisbon colours and according to reports, Arsenal have been keeping close watch on the player in the last few months and will hope to make a move for him in the next could of days.

The Algerian scored 31 goals in 44 matches in all competition for Sporting last season and is said to be available for £24m which is the amount in his contract as release clause. He has been linked with Leicester City and as well as Tottenham.

With Danny Welbeck out till November with a serious knee injury and Theo Walcott looking like he will leave the club this summer, signing a striker, or even two is a must if we do not want to find ourselves lamenting the lack of goals once again.

Giroud is no doubt a good striker but he should never be first choice for a club of the standard of Arsenal. Islam Slimani as a plan B or plan A won’t be a bad idea especially as he is available for cheap in comparsion to what other players are been sold for.

Arsenal are said to have offered him £85,000 a week wage package to convince him to move to the club this summer.
