According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku wants to move to Arsenal, but the £50 million price tag makes him too expensive for the Gunners.
The big striker is thought to be keen on leaving oodison Park this summer transfer window, but the Everton hierarchy wants to cash in heavily on the former Chelsea man..
Giulianelli claim contact was reportedly made between the two Premier League clubs but says that he has his doubts over the deal’s progression.
He wrote on Twitter: “Arsenal aren’t too optimistic after hearing they’d have to pay £50m for Lukaku to Everton.
“Informal contact was made yesterday between Arsenal and Everton but in my opinion the deal won’t progress despite Lukaku wanting the move.
According to the Daily Express, Everton have reportedly put a £75million price tag on his head to ward off potential suitors, while another British tabloid claim new Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is prepared to offer the player £100,000 a week to stay.
With this outrageous price tag on the player, believed to be around 60 million pounds, it look unlikely that Arsenal will sign Belgian striker.
There is no doubt about his quality, as only Argentine striker Sergio Aguero has scored more Premier League goals than the Belgian over the past four seasons and new Everton manager Ronald Koeman will be desperate to keep hold of him. Lukaku, is under contract at Goodison until 2019.
