After losing out on Jamie Vardy who has decided to stay at Leicester City, and looking like they have lost the race to sign Alvaro Morata to Chelsea, Arsenal are said to have entered the race to sign AZ Alkmaar star Vincent Janssen who has been linked with a move to Tottenham. The Dutchman was first linked with a move to Arsenal but Arsenal’s interest in him seemed to have died down immediately the Gunners triggered the release clause of Jamie Vardy.
With Vardy rejecting us, it seems Arsenal have finally decided to sign Janssen who had a good season the last time out scoring 30 goals in 46 games in all competition for AZ. He is said to be available for just 12 million which makes it more interest.
With Arsenal increasingly running out of options, signing the Dutchman for £12 million will make a lot of sense. If he ends up flopping in the Premier League, Arsenal can easily offload him and cut their loses. His wage demands is also never going to be a problem.
The player himself had recently confirmed he will like to leave AZ for a bigger club and for sure, Arsenal is bigger than both AZ and Tottenham.
