Wenger seem very desperate to bring in a striker to the Emirates this summer. After triggering the release clause of Jamie Vardy, waiting for two weeks for the player to make up his mind and then getting disappointed after Leicester City announced Vardy has agreed to sign a contract extension, Wenger and Arsenal have been linked with the signing of many strikers.
The latest is Santos striker Gabriel Barbosa who is simply known as Gabigol. The highly rated 19-year-old striker has recently been linked with a move to some of Europe’s best football clubs including Real Madrid and Barca but despite the interest from the bigger clubs, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to have made an official enquire for the player according to reports from Brazil.
Gabigol: “I have proposals that please me from big European clubs, but that’s with my parents and my agents. But I’m happy at Santos.

The player reportedly have a buy out clause put at 18 million but he is valued at €50 million. It remains to be seen if his club Santos will be forced to accept a bid for 18 million, which is his buy out clause but in cases like this, the potential buyer is often force to pay more than the clause.
Still just 19, Gabrigol is a typical hard working South American striker. With big clubs such as Barca and Real Madrid interested in him, he may well have something about him that is interesting them.
However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal have a chance of signing him at all. Though work permit is unlikely to be an issue due to the amount of money involved, it is unlikely that the player will reject the opportunity of playing for either Real Madrid or Barca for a move to Arsenal.
