Having sorted the defensive midfielder problem, Arsenal seems to have shifted their attention to sorting the defensive problem. The Gunners have been linked with the signing of variou defenders in recent time. This time, Arsenal are been linked with the signing of Clube Atletico Mineiro of Brazil left back Douglas Santos.
With doubts hanging on the head of Kieran Gibbs as to whether he will be playing for Arsenal next season, it appears Wenger is keen on signing a left back hence the links to Ricardo Rodriguez, Daley Blind and now Douglas Santos.
The Brazilian is said to be available for as little as £7.7 million which explains why Wenger could be interested in signing him. The Frenchman likes cheap players that no one else wants. Signing Douglas Costa instead of Rodriguez who reportedly has a release clause put at £19 million is obviously Wengr’s thing.
However, it must be said that just like Koscienly, Douglas Costa could come good in the end. And should he, I doubt there will be any Arsenal fan who will complain about how much was paid for him. The most important thing is his quality and not the price tag.
