According to report, North London club Arsenal have entered the race to sign AZ Alkmaar star Vincent Janssen and are hoping to pip North London rivals Tottenham to the striker’s services.
Arsenal have been forced to look elsewhere for a new striker after England international striker Jamie Vardy decided to renew his deal with Leicester City, while Belgian Romelu Lukaku could also stay at Goodison park.
Wenger is now ready to make a move for AZ Alkmaar star Vincent Janssen, but will have to battle with arch rivals Spurs for his signature.
The North London rivals have made their intentions known to sign the 22-year-old striker this summer but have yet to reach the asking price by the Eredivisie outfit.
Bids around 10m euros and 12.5m euros have been rejected and Arsenal has reportedly upped their offer to 14m euros on Thursday night, but that was also refused.
Jansen’s sensational performances has seen him attract interest from far and near, and it may well be that Spurs do finally meet AZ’s demands, but reports claim Arsenal could nip in first.
According to the club’s technical director, Max Huiberts, Arsenal have yet to make their move.
“The difference between the offer and the asking price is too big,” he said. “I hear a lot of rumours but nobody else has made an offer.”
Janssen is just 22-years-old and has time to develop his game and adapt to the English Premier League, he is believed to be available at only £16.25 million,
His Physical structure means he would cope in England physically, and is technically very good on the ball.
