Arsenal’s desperate desire to sign new striker continues and the latest player linked to the Gunners is French and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, as Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger is set to meet his agent, according to the Mirror.
Report says Arsenal have entered the race for the 25-year-old French striker as Arsene Wenger has scheduled a meeting with the France international’s agent, David Venditelli, later this week.
Arsenam manager Arsene Wenger is currently in France working with Bein Sport as part of their European championship coverage, but he is very much active in the transfer market, after his failed attempt to sign England international striker Jamie Vardy despite triggering his release clause with a £20m bid.
French striker Lacazette surprisingly missed out on France squad for the on-going European championship on home soil, despite scoring lot of goals for his side Lyon last season, with French coach Didier Deschamps choosing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in his stead.
Lacazette scored 21 league goals for French side Lyon last season, puting him in second place in the French top-flight scoring charts only behind PSG star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Mirror is reporting that Arsene Wenger will meet with the players agent Venditelli next week, but Arsenal may face competition from London rivals West Ham as well as Champions League finalist Atletico Madrid.
The striker should be available for £45m, having three years remaining on his current contract, Lyon will not be forced to sell unless they are satisfied with the deal offered.
