Arsenal surely must sign a striker this summer if they want to stand a chance of winning or even challenging for the Premier League title next season. Unfortunately Arsenal are increasingly, day by day, running out of options. According to reports from the French media this afternoon, Arsenal target Michy Batshuayi is currently undergoing medical in France with a Chelsea doctor.
Arsenal were the first club said to be interested in signing the highly rated Belgian. Someone reports claim Michy Batshuayi had agreed a deal to sign for Arsenal even before he joined Marseille but Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger reportedly pulled the pull on the signing.
Arsenal were once again this summer linked with his signing with reports claiming Wenger has personal held discussion with the player and is hopeful he can convince him to move to the Emirates this summer. Unfortunately as has been the case so many times, Chelsea have moved in, offered more money and are now going to be signing the player.
A bif of £33.2 million is said to have been accepted by Marseille from Chelsea for the player. This means Arsenal are once again losing out on one of their summer targets which is quite unfortunately. Michy Batshuayi was the third highest goal scorer in France last season and although he is overly priced at £33.2 million, considering how inflated the market is, Arsenal needs to accept the fact that if they must sign a striker this summer, they must pay top dollar/pound.
