Recently, Italian daily paper Corriere dello Sports reported AS Roma’s director of football, Walter Sabatini, is flying out to Britain to hold talks about the possible move of Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City) and Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal).
It was reported that Sabatini is hoping to persuade Arsenal to let Szczesny remain in Roma on a loan deal for another season, with Arsenal paying part of his wages.
There are comparative reports in another Italian daily paper Gazzetta dello Sport today. The report believes that Szczesny’s agent is in Milan to meet Sabatini and not the other way round.
Whatever be it, Gazzetta, similar to others, propose Arsenal ought to pay a piece of Szczesny’s wages, which they accept is around €3m a season, for the arrangement to go through.
I think Arsenal should accept this offer to keep Szczesny in the means of letting him remain in Roma on a loan deal. He will be a great asset when he comes back after this season as he claims to be learning more under the tutorship of Roma’s goalkeeping coach in Italy.
