According to reports, the Gunners are hoping to complete their second summer signing as soon as possible. The Arsene Wenger tutored side are working hard to sign a top goal poacher this summer and have been heavily linked with a number of strikers across Europe. Currently top of Arsenal’s wish list seem to be the former Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.
The former Juventus striker has since been linked with a move to the English Premier League with North London believed to be his likely destination. The Emirate club want to sign Morata as quickly as possible according to Sky Sports via Squawka.
The Emirate club will face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea for the services of the Spanish striker, but the Gunners are keen to sign the striker ahead of its rivalal Premier League club.
Former French international and Arsenal youth team coach Thierry Henry who keeps a close relationship with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently declared his love for the striker claiming he loves the 23 year old strikers desire to score goals.
“Alvaro Morata reminds me of Torres,” Henry told BBC Sport before Spain’s 2-0 defeat Italy. “He doesn’t want to do a lot in terms of dropping, coming into play but he just wants to go in behind.
“He doesn’t want to come short, he wants to score goals. That’s what I love about him.”
Morata impressed for the Spanish National team in the on-going European championship competition scoring three goals for Spain in the group stages.
