According to talkSPORT, North London club Arsenal are in pole position with French champions Paris Saint-Germain for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after he snubbed interest from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. According to reports, Lyon are ready to accept £39m bid from Arsenal
The French man has been with Ligue 1 club Lyon his entire career having progressed through the youth ranks before breaking into the first team in 2010 and he’s now regarded as one of the most clinical strikers in European football recently.
Lacazette, 25, who scored 23 goals in all competitions last season, took his personal goal tally to 75 over the past three campaigns and his fantastic form has led to interest from couple of English Premier League clubs including London rivals Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.
According to talkSPORT London rivals Spurs West ham has already shown their interest in bringing the French striker to the Premier league this summer but it’s been suggested that Lacazette has rejected their offers as he doesn’t believe they match his future ambitions.
talkSPORT go on to say that the French international however, could still be heading for the English Premier League as Arsenal and PSG are now in pole position for Lacazette’s signature and the striker is now waiting for both clubs to come forward with formal offers.
This deal is looking more likely by the day as the Mirror reported few days ago that Arsene Wenger was due to hold talks with the strikers agent over in France this week to discuss a likely move to Arsenal.
