Arsenal may be on the verge of completing what will be their third major signing despite the transfer window been open only for just four days. Reports linking Arsenal to Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa are gathering high at an alarming rate and the Gunners per reports apparently table a bid
Earlier this week, there were reports on the story that Arsenal had apparently made an offer for the prolific goal-scorer. Now, according to reports from the Brazilian Radio, the 19-year-old has turned down moves to PSG, Borussia Dortmund, and Hebei China Fortun in favour of a move to England.
Despite reports claiming his asking price was around £40m, same report goes on to say, the 19-year-old current team weren’t able to turn down a bid of €18m (around £15m), with numerous outlets saying that it’s the Gunners who have won the race to sign the promising youngster.
The Brazilian, who has been widely referred to as the ‘next Neymar’, bagged 54-goals in 148 appearances for Santos and the reports on Social media surrounding the 19-year-old is exciting.
Speaking to Radio Globo, Gabriel’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, discussed his client’s future earlier this week.
“A €25m (£20.8m) bid for Gabriel was already given to the president and he turned it down.
“The athlete already said he’s too young and wishes to stay at least for one more year. So, I believe he’s not leaving.”
