Only yesterday Arsenal announced the signing of Asano Takuma, this is According to report, AS Roma director Walter Sabatini will work on a deal for Arsenal goal keeper Wojciech Szczesny this week amid finalising a move for Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta.
And whilst the Roma director is in the UK, he will also reportedly hold talks with the Gunners to finalise a deal for Polish international and Arsenal goal keeper Wojciech Szczesny.
The Italian side are said to be interested in keeping hold of the Arsenal goal keeper for one more season due to his solid performances in Italian Serie A last season.
Szczesny, 26, made 42 appearances in all competitions for Roma last season and kept nine clean sheets.
The goal tender has also admitted he’s grown fond of Roma boss Luciano Spalletti, revealing last month that he has learnt a huge amount under the Italian boss.
“I learnt more in four months under Spalletti than in 10 years in England,” Szczesny said.
“If I stay at Roma, it’ll be an opportunity to grow and improve even more.”
According to reports, Arsenal previously paid two thirds of the polish’s wages last season in order to get him off their books due to the arrival of former Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech.
Arsenal are now said to be asking AS Roma to pay the goalkeeper’s wages in full and pay a small loan fee if they wish to have him for next season.
According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, The Roma director will travel to England this week to complete the transfer of Argentine defender Pablo Zabaleta from Manchester City.
Zabaleta hardly featured last season, playing just 13 Premier League games, and is reportedly close to a move to the AS Roma.
