With Jamie Vardy chosing to stay at Leicester City, Arsenal have been linked with the signing of various attacking players but if you believe reports in the English and the Spanish media today, then yet another Arsenal target is set to join one of our main tital rivals rather than us. Arsenal target Nolito is on the verge of signing for Manchester City after reports of his medical have flooded the British media in last few hours.
Nolito is expected to become Manchester City’s second summer signing after Pep Guardiola asked that he be signed earlier this month according to report from Telegraph.
British tabloid Telegraph believes that the Manchester club decided to trigger his £13.8million release clause after the Spain international striker came close to joining North London club Arsenal on couple of instances in the last 6 months.
Nolito, 29, was linked with a move to Arsenal last January and again this summer transfer window, but Arsenal could never reach a decision to sign him or not.
Arsenal’s indecision gave Manchester City ampule opportunity to sign Nolito to a 4-year deal. The had a stunning time at Celta Vigo last season scoring 12 league goals and breaking in to Spain’s national squad.
The striker was part of Spain’s Euro 2016 squad who were knocked out by Italy at the round of 16 stage earlier this week.
Having failed in his bid to sign Vardy among other targets, if Wenger does not decide to spend big, Arsenal could be in line for yet another trophyless season.
