A Striker is needed at the Gunners and Arsene Wenger understands that. After failing to sign Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy in spite of setting off his £20m release clause, Arsene Wenger set his sights on Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette. The North London side have been attempting to push through a £45m bargain for the services of the Lyon striker this summer.
The 25-year-old France International was spectacular last season as he scored 23 goals in all competitions for Lyon and he is reportedly the ‘top target’ name wanted by the Gunners.
Further, Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas in a late meeting conceded the interest for their striker, however he included that both Bruno Genesio and the forward are in talks to extent the players’ contract with the club.
“We had a few calls, but he will stay with us. The coach wishes to rely on him. And I also feel he wants to stay.” – Jean Michel Aulas said.
Wenger is very enthusiastic about adding more players to supplement his countryman Olivier Giroud in the Arsenal forefront, preceding the start of the new battle, though he has still not ruled out a move for his target.
Lacazette has made a sum of 173 Ligue 1 appearances for his present club, scoring 72 times, since making his first group debut in 2010. The player is very gifted and can give the Londoners some greatly required goals, a hardworking player with great ability to make out something out of nothing. He would be a great addition to the Gunners squad if this deal goes through.
