The Gunners have yet again suffered a big blow in their pursuit of a striker signing this summer. According to reports, Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain could be on his way Spain with Atletico Madrid said to be interested.
In a bid to upgrade their squad ahead of the coming season, Arsenal are desperately in need of a prolific striker who is capable of scoring 25+ league goals and the Argentine forward has been marked suitable for the job. However, Atletico Madrid are reportedly set to offer Napoli a very lucrative player-plus-cash that might tempt them to sell the Argentine.
Last month, reports from Marca claimed that Atletico manager Diego Simeone is keen on bringing Higuain to Madrid this summer, as he believes he’s the player they need to finally win the Champions League. The 28-year-old’s work rate, finishing ability, and experience are believed to have moved the manager to show interest in him.
Higuain is exactly what Arsenal needs, he netted 36 goals in just 35 Serie A performance last term, and as per WhoScored.com, Higuain is rank among players who can adapt to any league with little or no bedding in period needed. He is one of the most prolific strikers in the world.
In addition, unlike the Gunners present forward Olivier Higuain, he also has the ability to create something out of nothing, he explode past defenders which is something Giroud can’t be proud of.
Unfortunately unless Wenger acts very fast, the Argentine who was linked with a move to Arsenal before joining Napoli could well go to Atletico.
