According to reports from the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal are on the verge of finally signing a striker this summer as according to the report, Wenger is prepared to pay £34.2 million release clause in signing Alexandre Lacazette.
Same reports claims that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has met with the representative of the Lyon striker and the Emirates outfit boss reportedly is prepared to push forward with the deal. After having suffered defeat in the chase for Jamie Vardy.
West Ham are also interested in the France international and as per the report from the Telegraph they have returned to Lyon again this week having failed with series of bids to convince the forward to join them earlier this summer.
The Hammers’ interest in the forward is said to be as a result of them losing their other target Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea. The hammers had got a bid accepted for the player but Chelsea moved in and the rest is history.
The Daily Telegraph understands that the Hammers will however; make one final effort for Lacazette. The French is an explosive striker, very prolific and a great dribber.
He has bagged more than 20 goals in each of the past three seasons for the French team and his outstanding season performance was in 2014-15 when he remarkably scored 27 goals in 33 league appearances which saw him getting named French player of the year.
