Having only last Sunday announced the signing of highly rated Japan international striker Takuma Assano, Arsenal are set to complete yet another transfer deal. According to reports, Arsenal’s highly-rated and promising academy midfielder Dan Crowley will be joining League 1 side Oxford United on loan for the 2016-17 season. 18-year-old Crowley who is yet to make a first-team appearance for Arsenal, and is set for another loan spell after being told by Wenger he wasn’t physically ready for the Premier league
The promising England U-19 has drawn comparisons to Jack Wilshere and is said to be delighted about the move and looking forward to the opportunity hoping the move aid his development.
Crawford who made 13 appearances during a loan spell at Barnsley last season, scoring once is eager to work with manager Michael Appleton, who has seen a lot of young players flourish under his watch.
“I’m glad to have the opportunity here,” Crowley said. “It’s obviously a club that is going places and did really well last season so I’m looking forward to settling in, working hard in pre-season and being part of a successful side again this time around.”
Crowley’s loan deal is the first loan deal to be announced by Arsenal in this transfer window. And his parent club had nothing but good wishes for the gifted midfielder in an official statement “Everyone at Arsenal wishes Dan the best of luck as he looks to gain further first-team experience,” it read.
