With Danny Welbeck out till March 2017 and Theo Walcott showing beyond reasonable doubt that he can’t play as a lone striker, Arsenal needs to sign a striker this summer. But according to reports, French champions Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a bid to sign AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca who himself has been linked with a move to Arsenal. The French Champions are said to be keen on getting the deal done before Tuesday and expect the player to undergo his medical by Monday.
Bacca has since been linked with a move to North London club, but it seem PSG are more interested in the 29-year-old than the Gunners.
The Colombian international striker has been tipped as a potential replacement for retired Sweden international captain ZlatanIbrahimovic, who left the French club at the end of last month to joinpremier league giant Manchester United on free transfer this summer.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain have done pretty well sign the likes of Thomas Meunier, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Hatem Ben Arfa in this summer transfer window, but the vaccum left behind at the club by Zlatan is still not filled.
New PSG boss Umai Emery wants to sign Bacca as competition to Urugauayan international striker EdinsonCavani for the role in the attacker, according to Le 10 Sport.
Umai Emery reportedly had a good relationship with the 29-year-old Carlos Bacca while at Sevilla, where they went on to lift two Europa League titles between 2013 and 2015.
It is thought that AC Milan won’t mind selling for a huge profit, one on their most priced asset provided they receive the right offer from suitors. AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca was ever-present for AS Milan last season scoring 18 goals.
Football is about taking risk, Arsenal needs to take risk in the transfer market if they really want to sign a striker. Robin Van Persie was 29 years old when he joined Manchester United, and it paid off for United at the end.
