According to reports from L’Equipe via the Express, Arsenal are among the clubs interested in the service of Paris Saint-Germain and Brazilian centre-back Marcos Aoas Correa commonly known as Marquinhos.
The Brazillian signed for PSG from Roma in 2013 but he has find it difficult to establish himself in his preferred central defensive role with PSG. Many of his 29 appearances last season came at right-back position.
The north London could do with strengthening in defence this summer after they let another promising title challenge slipped away last season, and Marquinhos may be an ideal option for the Gunners.
Both David Luiz and Thiago Silva are the chosen starting pair for club and country and having tried very hard to get back into the team as a centre back and failing, Marqinhos is said to have given up and is open to the idea of playing in England.
It is understood that the Gunners aren’t the only team interested in the service of the Brazilian, as Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester United are reportedly to have all made approached the Les Perisiens in request for the services of Marquinhos.
This means Arsenal needs to move quickly if they want to have any chance at all of signing the highly rated former AS Roma centre back.
