Arsenal are set to complete yet another major transfer deal. This coming weeks after having completed the signing of Granit Xhaka and Japan’s highly rated striker Takuma Asano.
According to reports, former Arsenal youth skipper and utility man Isaac Hayden, is set for a move from the Emirates to Saint-James Park. The highly reputable England U20 defender who has spent the last 8 years with Arsenal’s academy is ready end his stint with Arsenal for first team opportunity with Newcastle United.
Despite his fine reputation in the Arsenal’s academy, Hayden is yet to make a League appearance for the North London side. Hayden made his debut appearance for Arsenal in a Capital One Cup game at West Bromwich Albion in 2013, he has only featured in only one other Arsenal first-team game which was another League Cup tie – a 2-1 home defeat to Southampton in 2014.
Hayden spent last season with Hull on loan and this has been his only other first team experience. Hayden featured 24 times for the Tigers last season, including 18 in the Championship as the Yorkshire outfit won promotion to the Premier League.
Rafa Benitez who will be looking at getting recently relegated side Newcastle promoted will be looking to add Hayden to his rank considering he has experience in the Championship. Hayden is set for medicals today and is to be offered a 5-year-contract after Newcastle met Arsenal’s valuation of the player.
Hayden will be looking forward to win promotion again with Newcastle to the Premier league.
