BID ACCEPTED, 5-Years Deal Agreed, Club Announce Arsenal Target Signing

AS Monaco just announced the signing of Arsenal’s target Djibril Sidibe from Lille, despite an eleventh hour bid from the Gunners. Monaco have tweeted the arrival of Sidibe, with a picture of him in the club’s kit, as he joins on a five-year contract.

Arsenal fans will be questioning the transfer policy of the manager and directors of the club following Sidibe snubbing the club for AS Monaco. Wenger tried luring the former Lille man to the Emirates as the 23-year-old can play in either full-back position and has shone in Ligue 1. Sidibe has made 96 Ligue 1 appearances, and his four goals last season were the most among French defenders in the top five European leagues.

Arsenal was said to want to bring in a full back due to the uncertainty of over Kierran Gibbs future, and Sidibe was considered as the ideal cover for Monreal. But once again Wenger couldn’t convince Sidibe to sign for Arsenal, making fans doubt his ability to convince players to the Emirates.

Arsenal is a bigger team than AS Monaco and should be able to command more respect in the transfer window, but somehow once again Wenger has let another transfer target slip from his grasp to sign for another team.
