Lyon have denied speculations from Le Progres on Tuesday morning which reported that the French club had received Arsenal bid of €48m for in-demand forward Alexandre Lacazette, instead they confirmed that they turned down the north London club offer of €35m.
Arsenal have been linked with the French forward for a number of weeks now, with the club interest on him now seems to be interested now that Gonzalo Higuain is believe to be set on a move to Juventus rather than to the Gunners.
A statement of the French club official website read. “Olympique Lyonnais categorically denies having received a €48m offer from Arsenal for the transfer of Alexandre Lacazette as Le Progrès stated in its issue this morning.”
“The club regrets once again that the progress has not bothered to contact them before publishing the false information which creates confusion on the day the Group publishes its annual turnover of €218.1 million, up 111% compared to 2014/2015, on the stock exchange.”
“The reality is that the club Arsenal made an offer of €35m which Olympique Lyonnais did not respond for one reason only: OL keep Alexandre Lacazette, who is irreplaceable and is a major leader of the group of Bruno Genesio.”
According to a report from L’Equipe last week, the reports says that the France international is set to leave the Ligue 1 club after he had had talks with the club’s hierarchy that he no longer sees his future at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
I believe with the Lyon forward requesting a transfer, it is believe that a satisfactory offer be ought to be received for the France international and by then he will be allowed to a move out of the club. It appears that Lyon won’t cut their €35m asking price for Lacazzete.
