A new report according to Algerian football news source LeButeur, declared that Riyad Mahrez would be joining Arsenal in the coming days, made the headlines on Wednesday night.
The report according to the Algerian media also confirmed that the Gunners are set to finalize the £37.1m deal for the Algeria international within the next 48-hours.
The media outlet went on claiming that have information from a ‘British journalist’ that the last campaign’s PFA Player of the Year is on the verge of making his move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, there are suggestions that despite the Premier League defending champion’s strong attempts to persuade the playmaker – who bagged a notable 17 goals in the Premier League last season – to pen a new contract were unsuccessful, as Mahrez has already made his decision that he wants to join the Gunners.
The Foxes officials as according to the Daily Star reportedly met in Los Angeles this week with the hope of clearing up the future of the Algerian international amid the interest from Arsene Wenger.
Mahrez is one of only handful of No. 1s in the world who could be seen as a genuine Gunnner, and the Foxes’ fall from grace over the Algerian winger should see him to the Emirates outfit in the coming days.
