Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admits he wants to bring in a new top-rated striker to the Emirates stadium before the end of the transfer window, which is just 20-days ahead.
The Frenchman targets are reportedly tipped to be Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, and Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
There are also reports that claim the Gunners hierarchy’s are desperate to have a new forward at the club either to collaborate Olivier Giroud or replace him. They are also said to be lining up impressive swoop for either of the forwards mentioned above who will cost the club more than £60m.
Wenger most preferred target who he’s been strongly linked with in recent days is the Allianz Arena forward Lewandowski, who’s on the verge of turning down contract extensions with the German club because of his huge wage demands.
The Gunners gaffer has been for long an admirer of the Polish forward since even while still at Borussia Dortmund, and there are reports that initial talks have begun with the Bundesliga champions as to whether a possible deal could be reached for the Polish forward.
If however, the Frenchman fails in signing the 27-year-old, he is likely to turn his attention to his compatriot and Atletico Madrid superstar Griezmann.
There was an earlier report last month that the duo spoke briefly during the 2016 European championship in France, but his move out from Vicente Calderon stadium would prove difficult for Arsenal as he just penned a new five-year deal with the Rojiblancos in June.
However, its believed that there is hope in landing the Frenchman to the Emirates stadium, as a report emerged today that Griezmann has a £85.5m buyout clause in his contract.
There’s still an hope that Wenger could be able to sign one of this two goal-poachers as an Emirates source probably from the Gunners official website said, “Arsene is willing to spend on a striker this summer, but only for the right man.
“He has his targets and players he thinks will improve the squad, but this could go down to the wire.”
