Premier League champions Leicester City have made an impressive bid of €27m (£23.2m) for the Santos and Brazilian forward Gabriel Barbosa.
The skillful 19-year-old, well-known as Gabigol, is on international for his country at the Rio Olympics and his future is likely to be concluded at the end of the Olympic Games.
The Foxes, however, had strong hope to receive an answer before the tournament ends with the Premier League season starting this weekend.
However, Leicester are reportedly likely to face keen competition from Juventus and Internazional for the services of the Brazilian as they’ve also made bids for the Santos forward. Although, according to reports from the Guardian, the duo bid for Gabigol is lower to that of the Premier champions, which is at €25m.
Gabigol has a contract with the Brazilian club until 2019. This was recently announced that he had signed a new deal that’ll see him remain at the club until 2019, but that’s not an issue for the Foxes as the player and his family wanting to see which clubs are interested in signing him.
