Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
There are reports coming from Italy claiming Arsenal is set to lose their target to Napoli who are reportedly stepped up their interest in the Inter Milan and Argentina forward Mauro Icardi.
The report from La Gazzetta dello Sport [via The Daily Express] previously suggested we’re set to enter into personal terms with the Italian club for a possible move to the forward.
There is also a report from another Italian news outlet Football-Italia that claims there are ongoing discussion with the Nerazzurri, which said an offer of €62 million (£53.4 million) from Napoli has been submitted for Icardi.
However, same source has also previously claimed that the Italian new head coach Frank de Boer has recently confirmed that the Argentinian is not moving out from San Siro this summer, despite the mammoth offer in cards for him.
Clearly, its can be seen that we are in need of a new forward which same also applies to the Napoli. The Naples lost Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus recently, while we’ve relied on the limited Oliveir Giroud at the point of attack.
Here’s a look at why Icardi could potentially be the answer to our problems:
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lacked an excellent and predictable striker for a while. Giroud will keep scoring goals and serve as a strong target man, but he lose consistency at the point of goals.
Danny Welbeck is an injury-prone striker while Theo Walcott has yet to prove himself in the centre-forward position for the Frenchman.
