Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
There are report claiming Arsenal’s mouth-watering sensational swoop for Atletico Madrid’s and France international Antoine Griezmann have been dashed off after Premier League giants Chelsea failed to sign Romelu Lukaku, according to Squawka.
The club manager Arsene Wenger has been widely criticized by all for his reluctant to spend and bringing in new much needed reinforcement to the Emirates stadium but the report from the above media still claimed the Frenchman has spent much time this summer working on a shock move for his compatriot.
The report from the aforementioned media went on claiming that the north London club are prepared to pay £60m to bring in the Rojiblancos forward to the Emirates this summer and were led to believe that a deal was on the cards as long as the La Liga giants were able to Chelsea’s Deigo Costa as a replacement.
Costa, 27, has been strongly linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge this summer back to the Vicente Calderaon but it’s understood the Blues would only let the Brazilian born leave the club should they’re able to lure Lukaku away from Everton.
The news will come as a huge blow for Gunners boss as Squawka claim that the Griezmann would have been open to the idea of moving to Arsenal, despite him penning a new contract at the Rojiblancos back in June that saw his buyout fee raise to £86m.
