Arsenal have reportedly been told they must German international Shkodran Mustafi’s £43.1 million buy-out clause or they will be missing out on the Valencia defender.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be on the hunt for a new centre-back as he’s just missed out on Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista to long-term injury and the German has according to Sky Sports agreed a deal in principle with the north London club before Valencia blocked the transfer.
The report further went on claiming that the German World-Cup winner has a £43.1m buy-out clause in current contract with Valencia and the La Liga giants are reluctant to part with the defender or even go for any less this summer.
Additionally, Mustafi was included in the La Liga’s match day squad for their opening Premier League match game of the season against Las Palmas.
However, with the current report, it seems we could be missing out on the defender and if he does remain with the Los Che, it’ll be another high-profile target that Wenger has missed out on during this summer with the most notable being Leicester City’s duo Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.
