Arsenal legend Robert Pires believes his former Arsenal teammate, Thierry Henry is likely to succeed the club current manager Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
39-year-old Thierry Henry, spent eight years at the Emirates before he chose to continue his football career with Barcelona in 2007 and recently he’s become Belgium’s assistant manager.
The Frenchman gave Henry an ultimatum this summer over choosing a coaching role with the club or his punditry work with Sky Sports and, though Henry opted to leave the club, a good relationship still exists between the pair.
Wenger celebrated the 20th anniversary of his arrival at the Emirates stadium last week but still out of contract until next summer.
Moreover, Pires believes Henry could be the ideal candidate to succeed Wenger because of his knowledge of the club.
‘Of course [he could succeed Wenger] why not? Thierry Henry and Arsenal have a good relationship,’ said Pires.
