Arsenal and Sunderland will be going head-to-head in the signing of FC Copenhagen striker Federico Santander, according to report coming from Paraguay.
talkSPORT in one of their recent reports claims Sunderland have been tracking the Paraguayan forward since the start of the new Premier League season.
Santander, 24, had 14-goals laid only four assists for the Byens Hold in the last campaign, which was the same season he made his debut for Copenhagen.
Santander saw the net 24 times last season in just 54 appearances for the Lions. And that, according to Paraguayan news outlet ABC, has attracted the interest of Sunderland ahead of the January transfer window.
The Black Cats are light on attacking options and Santander is now being scouted as a possible solution.
Copenhagen, however, are in no need to sell and would reportedly demand a fee in excess of £30m for the Paraguay international.
As the guns in the attacking role at the Emirates is yet to be fully loaded or rather jammed, the Champions League would be an ideal competition for our summer signing Lucas Perez and a replacement for Olivier Giroud whose future is yet to be determined at the Emirates.
