Arsenal’s and Chilean international Alexis Sanchez has reached 50 goals for the club in all competitions with his brace against Sunderland.
The former Barcelona skipper put the Gunners ahead early before he applied the cherry on the cake to end the match 4-1 late on in the match against David Moyes’ side.
This has taken the Chilean just 106 games to reach the landmark. Sanchez has been in superb form for Arsenal this seasonespecially in terms of goal scoring form, having scored eight goals in 14 appearances for the Gunners so far.
Arsene Wenger seems to have unlocked these performances from Sanchez by playing him as the central striker, ahead of the likes of Olivier Giroud.
Sanchez’s new position has also helped his teammates, with Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott finding the back of the net far more often with the ex-wide man as his side’s focal point.
This latest victory that Sanchez has fired Arsenal to leaves them top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool’s fixtures this weekend.
The added goal difference that they have gained could help Wenger and co. to hold on to this position ahead of the north London derby with Tottenham next week.
