Done ! – Inter Ready To Sell £26million-rated ‘Gabigol’ To Arsenal

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

INTER MILAN are ready to dump Arsenal and Chelsea target Gabriel Barbosa, according to reports.

The Brazilian striker, known as ‘Gabigol’, has played just 16 minutes this season as a substitute since his £26million summer move from Santos.

Gabigol, 20, who starred for Brazil in the Rio Olympics, had been tipped as one of the hottest young forwards before joining Inter but found himself frozen out under former boss Frank de Boer.

Now, according to Italian website Calcionews24, the Serie A giants are considering offloading Gabigol.

Arsenal and Chelsea are both reportedly interested in snapping up the Samba star but face competition from Barcelona.

The Catalan club were chasing Gabigol in a bid to link him up with Neymar, who he has drawn comparisons from.

Barca were said to have first option to sign Gabigol thanks to a clause inserted in the original deal to sign Neymar from Santos in 2013.

But the Brazilian club risked Barcelona’s wrath by selling to Inter instead, reportedly leading to the La Liga side threatening to sue.

Ronald de Boer, brother of the former Inter boss, threw the transfer into further controversy when he claimed Inter signed Gabigol behind Frank’s back.

Despite Gabigol’s lack of first-team action, the hitman could find himself staying put now that De Boer has been sacked.

Seasoned Italian manager Stefano Pioli has taken over at the San Siro and could reinstate Gabigol in a bid to jump-start Inter’s season.

Inter are currently ninth in Serie A, 13 points behind leaders Juventus.
