Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Mesut Ozil has bought a £10million home in north London in a major hint he will commit his long-term future to Arsenal, according to a report.

The Sun claim the Germany international has splashed out on a three-storey luxury property in the leafy suburb of Highgate.

t is said that Ozil’s purchase strongly suggests he is laying down roots in the  capital and that he is also set to pen a new contract.

This comes after the Sun reported that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is preparing a move for the 28-year-old.

The Germany international has already snubbed a new £160,000-a-week deal with the Gunners and Mourinho is prepared to offer a staggering £250,000-a-week.

Ozil’s current deal, which is worth £140,000-a-week, is set to expire in the summer of 2018.

Mourinho may have some leverage in the deal having already worked with the midfielder during their time at Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Ozil moved to Arsenal in 2013 for £40million from Real Madrid and has been a major success for Arsene Wenger.

The attacking midfielder has made 131 appearances for the north London club, scoring 27 goals and supplying 47 assists.

He is well known across Europe for his creativity but has displayed a new-found clinical touch in front of goal this season, with seven strikes from 14 appearances in all competitions.
