Manchester United and Chelsea have joined Arsenal in transfer battle to sign Atalanta star Mattia Caldara, according to reports coming from Italy.
Having spent most of the past two season out of the club on loan, at Trapani and then at Cesena, the Caldara who’s a very classy defender is finally enjoying his breakthrough season at Atalanta.
He had played seven games for the Serie A side this season, bagging three goals and his brilliant form has attracted interests from top host club from Europe.
Juventus are also said to be keeping an eye on the centre-back, but report making the rounds from Italy claimed that United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all monitoring him closely.
Atalanta are bracing themselves for January bids, but they will not let him go cheaply given he is under contract until 2021.
And it is unclear whether Caldara, who was born in Bergamo, would look to leave his hometown club so quickly after breaking through into the first team.
