Arsenal are reportedly plotting a January move to sign Wolfsburg star Julian Draxler.
According to French media outlet RMC Sport, Arsenal are readying a €35m (£30m) move to sign Wolfsburg star Julian Draxler during the January transfer window – and Mesut Ozil is urging the club to sign him.
The Gunners have impressed in the Premier League this season, and whilst they lost 2-1 at Everton on Tuesday night, they look to be legitimate title contenders.
Some fans will want new signings brought in during the January transfer window though, and it seems that manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on another midfielder.
RMC Sport report that Wolfsburg playmaker Julian Draxler wants to leave the club, and Arsenal are ready to offer them €35m (£30m) for his signature – though they face competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 23-year-old hit eight goals and seven assists last season before starring for Germany at Euro 2016, but he has been unsettled this term, having failed to notch a goal or an assist this season.
Draxler seemingly wants to leave the club, and whilst Paris Saint-Germain have begun talks with his agent, Arsenal are also believed to be plotting a £30m offer to finally land Draxler, having tried to sign him in January 2014, as reported by The Guardian.
It’s stated that Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is urging the club to sign his international team-mate in a bid to team up with Draxler again, having also come up through the ranks at Schalke with him.
Draxler would presumably play on the left of midfield given that Alexis Sanchez is now playing up front, and would push the likes of Alex Iwobi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain down the pecking order if they can sign the German ahead of PSG.
