Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
According to recent report, Julian Draxler has shunned Arsenal for a £34million PSG transfer as source close to Germany star reveals he is still open to offers.
The left-sided midfielder has been booed by his own fans this campaign after expressing his desire to leave the German side.
Arsenal are still in the market and keen on securing a move for Draxler, according to a source inside the Germany star’s entourage.
Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of the Wolfsburg playmaker but almost gave up on signing him this season when Ligue One giants and free-spending PSG started chasing his signature with an offer of £34million.
But Paris paper La Parisien says a source close to the World Cup winner has said the Premier League side still has a chance of landing the 23-year-old.
The mole said: “Nothing is done. Julian is still hesitating between PSG and Arsenal.
“For the moment, he is thinking.
“A decision will be made in the coming days. One thing is certain, he has played his last match for Wolfsburg.”
Draxler made the assist for Mario Gomez’s crucial second goal in their 2-1 triumph at Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday but that is apparently his last contribution to the Bundesliga side.
The left-sided midfielder has been booed by his own fans this season, after expressing his desire to leave the club.
He said: “I don’t think I need to tell anybody what being booed does to a person – it certainly doesn’t help you.
“There’s no doubt it makes it hard for you to perform on the field. I can understand the fans, though. They have every right to do that.
“I said in the summer the way I feel and I stand by that.”
Draxler could come in as a replacement for Germany team-mate Mesut Ozil who, along with Gunners striker Alexis Sanchez, is playing hardball over a new contract.
