Martins Keown thinks that Arsenal should make an offer for Yaya Toure from Manchester City.
Since moving to the Etihad from Camp Nou in 2010, Yaya Toure has been a key player. At the age of 33, he’s arguably one of the strongest midfielders in the game, a fact that came to light during the Manchester Derby on Thursday night.
However, when Pep Guardiola became manager at City, Yaya got less playing time and his future at the club looks bleak, despite getting more game time during the second half of the season.
With the Ivory Coast international’s City contract coming to an end in June and it still uncertain if he will pen a new deal, former Gunner, Martin Keown, have the opinion that there will be clubs vying for his signature. And he believes Arsenal should be one of them.
“With Yaya Toure making marauding runs in midfield (against Manchester United)… it was as if City had turned back time!” Keown wrote in hisDaily Mail column.
“If City let Toure go in the summer there will be clubs queueing up to sign him — and Arsenal should be one of the teams looking to bring him in.”
