Arsenal wins the competition to sign 16-year-old left-back

Reports by Mirror  claimed Arsenal are ready to compete with rival Manchester City to get Dinamo Zagreb youngster David Colina’s signature.

The media publication stated that the 16-year-old left-back is the hottest property among players in his age bracket in the transfer market, and has also caught the attention of clubs in Spain, Germany and Italy.

The Croatian youngster has been unable to break into the first team in Zagreb, but he is held in high esteem in their Under-17s set up and it has been reported that his club are not in haste to let him go just yet.

He has made 23 appearances for Croatia Under-17s, picking up one goal in his last appearance for the national side, in a 1-1 draw with Spain at the European Under-17 Championships earlier this month.

Arsene Wenger will be hoping to add more depth to the Emirates squad and the defence will be one of his priority this summer as Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs has failed to live up to expectation this season.

Arsenal was not able to finish in top four in the Premier League this season and will not be playing in the Champions League next season.

However, they did not end the season trophyless as they beat Chelsea 2-1 to their third FA Cup in four years on Saturday at Wmebley.
