Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
According to recent reports, Arsenal are hoping to sign Monaco full back Djibril Sidibe who seem to have established himself in the footballing world.
The Daily Star report that Arsenal wishes to overcome competition from clubs like Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur who are also in pursuit of the Frenchman.
There were reports last summer of Arsenal closing in on the completion of a deal with Sidibe from Lille, but the full back opted for Monaco instead.
Now, after lifting the Ligue 1 title and reaching the semi-finals in the Champions League, Sidibe is one of several Monaco players at the centre of attraction for many clubs across Europe.
Sidibe is a versatile player who can play as a right and left back and would challenge Bellerin for a first team spot.
However, with Arsenal potentially playing with wing-backs next season and with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain proving to be a consistent and reliable option there, it seems doubtful they’ll be needing any more full backs.
This seems like the kind of rumor that would only come to fruition should Bellerin decide to leave the club this summer.
