There is excitement among the West Ham fans and supporters as their chances of signing Olivier Giroud are increased.
According to Goal, Giroud is open to a move to West Ham and the Hammers are willing to take out £20m to sign him. They have also been mentioned in link with Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho for the same fee.
West Ham have had issue in their front line for some years now with injury-prone Andy Carroll the only one of some decent quality. Giroud would be a major upgrade and the West Ham fans feel it would be good to have him over.
Despite losing his regular spot in the Arsenal squad last season, the 30-year-old French international picked up 12 goals in 11 Premier League starts. Such an impressive result could potentially move West Ham from the bottom half to the top six.
Giroud could be moving out of the Emirates in search of more playing time, dropping a vague hint about that earlier this month. He was mostly used as a sub for Arsenal last season and has received lot of offers from the French Ligue 1.
