Barcelona have reportedly received a £26million offer from Arsenal to complete the transfer of Turkish midfielder Arda Turan after long-standing interest in the player.
The 30-year-old has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Gunners at the beginning of this summer, though the club had yet to meet his price tag at the Nou Camp.
Turan’s agent, however, claim the rumors are false, but that has not stopped the rumor mill from coming back with the speculations today they are ready to cough up his asking price.
‘Arda is not going anywhere. Barcelona’s directors are happy with him,’ Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut said earlier this month.
However, Marca claim Arsenal have now come forward with a better offer to Barca, who haven’t found a regular spot for the former Atletico Madrid man in their first team.
The reports further stated that the player’s agent have been instructed to consider offers that may come along this summer.
It remains to be seen if Turan will bid Barcelona goodbye so quickly, but Arsenal seem intent on bringing quality players to the Emirates this summer amidst fears over the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
