Olivier Giroud would reportedly be willing to move to Turkish champions Besiktas this summer, with Champions League football the reason for his decision.
Giroud could be on his way out of Arsenal if he is not guaranteed of first team play next season. West Ham as been rumored as a possible destination, but Turkish Football is now reporting that Besiktas are the most considered option.
The claims were laid by Haberturk journalist Kartal Yigit, who says that Besiktas have made an approach and that Giroud seem interested in joining them. It’s believed the Frenchman would prefer to sign for a club that will be playing in the Champions League next season should he leave Arsenal this summer.
French Ligue 1 duo Lyon and Marseille are also among the club interested in landing the player, and there have been reports that Giroud could be involved in a potential swap deal for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsene Wenger has publicly backed the player and wants him to stay, however, saying:“(Giroud) has qualities that our team need.”
