West Ham are refusing to relent in their effort to sign Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud this summer, according to Claret and Hugh.
The independent Hammers official site has claimed that the east Londoners are looking to sign at least two forwards this summer and they are still determined to sign the 30-year-old who has stated his intention to remain at the Emirates.
It is stated that the club believe “events could change rapidly” now for Giroud with Arsenal having sealed a deal for prolific goalscorer Alexandre Lacazette for a club record £46.5million.
It is likely that the seasoned Giroud will fall down the pecking order behind his fellow Frenchman in the striker and at this stage of his career and with the forthcoming World Cup next summer he will be eager to get more playing time.
Now, West Ham want to get their new additions in as soon as possible as they prepare for the new season, but it is also stated that the Giroud situation may still be uncertain till August.
However, given the Hammers needs to add more depth to their squad this summer they may wait for the 64-time capped France international, who scored 12 goals in 29 Premier League appearances last season.
