Barcelona have reportedly put a halt to their pursuit of Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin due to concerns over his technical skills.
The 22-year-old has been top priority for the La Liga side this summer as they look bring an end to their right-back crisis, with recent reports claiming that the Spaniard’s agent was actively looking to secure a deal for his client.
According to Spanish media outlet Sport, however, the Barca board have now decided to withdraw their interest owing to concern over his “technical ability and general fitness”.
The £35m price tag of Bellerin, who has been troubled with ankle injury, was also thought to be considered too high for the player by some executives at the club.
Bellerin is currently on holiday following his participation for Spain at the Under-21s European Championships but is expected to join the Gunners on their pre-season tour shortly.
